Features
Cornucopia - Cooking Recipes is a
configurable cooking recipes mod based all around the wonderful variety of cuisines from the Ferngill Republic, and shores beyond!
This mod has been designed for both
casual players and
extreme foodies to enjoy! Please choose the settings that appeal to you the most, based on your own personal playstyle. We have both a 'lite' (Home Cook) and a 'full' (World Traveler) option to play with, which is toggled in mod settings.
No other Cornucopia mods are required to enjoy Cooking Recipes. But, players who have ingredients from other Cornucopia mods will be able to find more recipes in their game.
Here are the main features:
- As much as 530 new recipes (configurable) to discover - meals, snacks, pastries, even (non-alcoholic) drinks, there's something for everyone!
- New friendship-unlocked letters and dialogue from townspeople
- Tasty recipes to discover at every festival, and washed ashore from overseas
- (World Traveler only) A new traveling shopkeeper, with a quest that needs your help!
- (World Traveler only) Custom recipe books focused on various world regions
- (World Traveler Extended only) New cooking class events at the Stardrop Saloon!
- (World Traveler Extended only) Two weekly cooking lessons from the Queen of Sauce, that can be listened to on the radio!
Please see below for how to set up the mod.
In addition to the mod content, we also have some very fun quality-of-life cooking features such as:
- Flexible Recipes - Freely swap out important cooking ingredients like Cheese, Oil, Butter, and more!
- Hyperflexible Recipes - Freely use ingredients from any other mod* as substitutes for Cornucopia items! Don't worry anymore about having the "wrong" apple for a recipe - experiment with what you have already! Recommend use Love of Cooking, highly recommend to use with Flexible Cookingto make vanilla recipes match.
- Flavored Recipes - Customize some select recipes by keeping the flavor of the main ingredient - such as using a Strawberry to make a Strawberry Smoothie! Recommend to use with Sensible Item Colorsfor improved results.
A wide variety of Cornucopia items have been incorporated into recipes, hopefully giving you a reason to grow and use most things. Try and discover a new favorite!
setting up the mod
If you're not concerned with exactly how many recipes are added by the mod, you can simply install and play as normal. However, if you would like to customize your experience, please read through the following:
The mod has two main configurations to choose from, the 'lite' version, called
Home Cook, and the 'full' version, called
World Traveler. By default,
World Traveler is turned ON... but you can turn it OFF if you want a more limited selection of recipes.
- Home Cook will focus more on the types of cuisine that already exist in Stardew.
You'll get classic dishes popular in the Ferngill Republic, including Zucchini Fritters, Stuffed Peppers, and Gumbo; but also a good selection of iconic dishes from abroad, such as Poke Bowl, Banh Mi, and Ratatouille! It integrates recipes to match vanilla, like with mail from townspeople and recipes bought in shops.
- World Traveler has all of the dishes from Home Cook, but with more of an emphasis on cuisine from all over the world.
You'll discover dishes and desserts from far-off regions like the Crescent Sea and the Golden Delta, and learn more about interesting foods like Paniki Stew, Stroganina, and One Man Thousand! It has more active content, like a recipe book hunting quest, and events and radio episodes with more detailed information on various foods.
In addition to the choice to play with or without World Traveler, there is also an
automatic check to add recipes based on what other Cornucopia mods you have installed.
- Vanilla - No requirements; recipes with vanilla ingredients will always be added.
- Essential - Requires More Crops(any settings)
- Extended - Requires More Crops(Extended crops, trees, and herbs pack all enabled), More Flowers(any settings), and Artisan Machines
In summary, here is how many recipes total you can expect to have at each tier:Home Cook (World Traveler setting OFF)
- Vanilla - 40
- Essential - 75
- Extended - 130
World Traveler
- Vanilla - 115
- Essential - 240
- Extended - 530 total recipes
You can freely change tiers without issue, if you change your mind.
Frequently asked questions Q: Can I install or uninstall this mod in an existing game?
A: Absolutely. This mod can be safely added or removed to any save file. You will not miss out on any content by adding it to an existing save. If you decide to remove the mod, any leftover items can be safely thrown away.
Q: Are these recipes required for perfection?
A: Yes. Unfortunately, mod authors are currently unable to exclude cooking recipes from perfection requirements. However,
players can adjust their own perfection requirements, such as with the in-game perfection helping methods, or with the mod Perfection Tweaker.
Q: Is this mod compatible with [insert mod here]?A: Yes. Until someone reports otherwise, I do not know of any mods which are
incompatible with Cornucopia Cooking Recipes.
Q: I don't have all the other Cornucopia mods. Will I be missing out on content?
A: Play however suits you best! We designed this mod for every player to have an enjoyable, complete experience at any installation tier.
Q: Can you make options to turn on or off specific recipes?
Year. It's an insane amount of work.
Q: How do I complete the quest?
A: Play the game normally! Quest items are designed to be found without having to actively hunt for them, similar to secret notes. Talk to the Mysterious Lady each week for hints if you're stuck. Some items can be obtained in multiple different ways as well, so your methods may be different from other players.
Q: Can I help out?
A: Yes. We always especially need help from translators and wiki contributors! But, you can also give us feedback to improve our mods. Please leave a comment or
join our Discord. For questions and concerns over DMs, please contact 6480.
Compatibility
- Love of Cooking - Full compatibility (massive thanks to bblueberry for making updates)!
- Stardew Valley Expanded - Full compatibility. For those players who are using the SVE Compat Patch option in More Crops, turn on Hyperflexible Recipes for right now - the compat patch will be added natively later.
- Lookup Anything - If you're using Flexible or Hyperflexible Recipes with Lookup Anything, the extra recipe options may not display. So LA may tell you an ingredient is required for a recipe, when it's not. Other than this, it's totally fine.
- The following mods are guaranteed to have integration with the Flexible and Hyperflexible Recipes options: Stardew Valley Expanded, Visit Mount Vapius, Wildflour Atelier Goods, Rose and the Alchemist, Bonster's Combined Crops and Recipes, East Scarp, Sunberry Village, More New Fish, Ridgeside Village.

For mod authors
We would love for mod authors to add integration to their mods!
Item integration:- Gift tastes for custom NPCs - Can be added to gift taste fields directly without any conditions
- Your custom NPCs and shops can gift or sell Cornucopia items such as cooked dishes and ingredients
- Your custom NPCs and shops can also gift or sell Cornucopia recipes - but please try not to give the player more than 12 or so recipes, so the original mod design isn't bypassed (feel free to brainstorm with us!)
- You may copy Cornucopia art assets and code into your own NPC mods if you want them to have dishes without requiring a dependency. Make sure the item ID stays the same and is on Early Priority to avoid overwriting data. If you plan to add a large number of items, it would be better to do a conditional or dependency check though. If you're not sure how to do it, please ask for help.
Ingredient integration:In order for items to be usable as options in
Flexible/Hyperflexible Recipes, they must have context tags to denote the type of item they are. The basic format for this tag is "
_item". For example, a Purple Carrot should have the context tag "carrot_item". Cornucopia also uses tags for fish, for example, Rainbow Trout is "trout_item".
There are additional broader categories, such as cheese_item, chili_item, flour_item, cooking_oil_item, and so on. Please see the list on this pagefor which ones are used in Cornucopia and other mods.Cornucopia:
Other wonderful mods:
- Flexible Cooking- Interchange various vanilla and modded ingredients in vanilla recipes, same as Cornucopia recipes
- Sensible Item Colors- Edits the color data of various vanilla items to make more realistic flavored products - like Tuna being red when cooked instead of blue.
